ARES 1X COMMEMORATIVE PATCHES
This set of three patches celebrates the first launch of the new Constellation Program. Ares 1X will be a test flight of the Ares 1 booster with a mock-up 5th booster segment and upper stage with the same weight and mass of the proposed flight vehicle. This test flight is scheduled for summer/fall of 2009 from Pad B of Launch Complex 39 at the Kennedy Space Center.
These designs - based on public domain NASA artwork were created by Tim Gagnon of Titusville, Florida, a graphic and portrait artist with a life long passion for space exploration. His work is on display at the Kennedy Space Center, City Hall in Elmira, NY and the International Space Station.
