X-15 Commemorative 4" x 6" Patch
Item #: MPJETX15
X-15 Commemorative 4" x 6" Patch This design is the third in the series "Celebrating 50 Years of America in Space". It honors the men and women of the X-15 Program. The central theme of the design is the launch of the X-15 from its carrier aircraft. It flies to where the sky turns black. The twelve men who piloted the X-15 are listed in order by which they made their first flight. The twelve stars in the sky represent the pilots service. The six white stars are for the civilians, five sliver stars for the USAF Pilots and 1 gold star for the US Navy Pilot. The design was created by Tim Gagnon of Titusville, Florida, a graphic and portrait artist with a lifelong passion for space exploration. His work is on display at the Kennedy Space Center, City Hall in Elmira, New York and the International Space Station.
